Stage 1
Your employer list
Before you list employers from memory, request your National Insurance record from HMRC. It lists every employer who ever paid NI for you, including ones you have forgotten. We can write that request letter for you.
Generate the HMRC letterNo employers added yet.
Add every employer you can remember, then request your NI record to catch the ones you have forgotten.
Stage 2
State Pension forecast
Your State Pension is separate from workplace pensions. Get a forecast to see what you are on track for and whether you have missing NI years that affect it.

Trace each scheme
The government's Pension Tracing Service is free. It will give you a scheme's current contact details. It will not confirm a pension exists, tell you its value, or contact the scheme for you. That is the gap this tool fills — once you have the address, we write the letter.
When you call, have your National Insurance number to hand. Note any reference they give you in the employer's details above.
