What the pensions dashboard will and won’t tell you

A side-by-side of the seven questions we put to every scheme, and what the dashboard’s published view data actually returns.

Last reviewed September 2026. Correct as at 17 September 2026.

What this tool does. It writes the letters and asks the questions. It does not tell you what to do with the answers. It is not financial advice, and we are not authorised to give it.

A pensions dashboard returns a defined set of data. It is useful, and it is not complete. This table sets the two side by side.

What the dashboard does return

  • The scheme and employer name.
  • Your membership dates.
  • The administrator’s contact details.
  • An accrued value or an estimated retirement income.
  • Signpost links to the scheme’s costs-and-charges page.
